I started my career in the hairdressing industry over 20 years ago, joining Mam's team at 'The Hair Cabin' in Newcastle's infamous Bigg Market. With her training and guidance I was a confident stylist within one year.
I've achieved many goals in my career reaching the regional stage of the L'Oréal professional Colour Trophy competition 5 years running and in 2017 winning the regional final! I completed my 'Colour Specialist' degree with L'Oreal in 2010 and have been a member of the Evolution team, an trained as an ID Artist. I believe in ongoing education and enjoy staying on top of the latest trends and techniques such as the current trend for balayage hair colour.
Above all I thrive on achieving fantastic results for my clients, and enjoy a warm rapport with my regulars. My aim is to deliver the look you are hoping to achieve and to help you feel fabulous!
Many moons ago at the age of 14, I began my training as a junior hairdresser at J & J Laws on Saville Row. The elderly couple who owned the business chose to retire a few years later and I took over the business in my early twenties. The Salon became known as the Hair Cabin and changed locations to the Bigg Market where it remained for over 40 years.
The business became a firm family affair when my daughters Claire and Joanne joined and we decided to rebrand and launch our new identity 'At Sisters' and relocate to Pink Lane. We are still thriving there and have recently undergone a refurbishment, extending the salon, introducing a relaxing new colour scheme and beautiful feature flower walls. We have also worked very hard to become covid-secure, introducing safety measures and systems so that we can remain open and ready to welcome our lovely clients. We want to be a safe haven and place to escape and unwind despite the strange times we are living in.
I suppose I should officially be retired but I still love my job and being part of the team. I still get to work occasionally on my special clients and am very proud of the family business we have built and continue to grow. Trust us with your next Hair cut or Beauty treatment.
My journey with At Sisters started as a junior at the age of 17, I am now a Senior Stylist and experienced in all aspects of hairdressing. I enjoy being able to achieve something different and exciting on every client. I love a challenge, especially colour changes and I enjoy the bond that comes from working with clients on a regular basis.
I am an extension specialist with Easilocks. Easilocks are a non-glue, no sewing extension which means they are very gentle on the hair! One of my favourite products is Beach Waves, it's great for not only short textured hair, but for long bouncy hair too. My favourite tool is my razor as you can achieve so many different looks and textures. And Olaplex is fab!
